Lead Platform Architect

SpaceRig delivers flight readiness infrastructure and expertise, including at and with modular spaceport facilities, manufacturing hubs, and environmental test capability across fixed facilities and a deployable mobile fleet (TVAC, AO, VUV, etc.). Every campaign generates qualification data that customers ultimately need for flight readiness, and that data is what makes SpaceRig more than a set of chambers.
The Lead Platform Architect is the founding engineer who owns the software layer that turns dispersed test operations into a single, coherent, auditable data product.
This is the first dedicated platform hire. The person in this seat sets the architecture, AND the code.

The SpaceRig portal, expert and facility network, data pipeline, and archives.
Design, build, and maintain the customer- and operator-facing portal, the network that connects users, facilities and experts. This also includes the pipelines that carry data from test site to storage and long-term archives that customers and regulators can rely on years after a campaign closes. Own data integrity, retention, security, versioning, and access control end to end.
Build the robust backend that runs a test campaign as a managed workflow: intake and scheduling, profile and procedure definition, run execution and monitoring, anomaly flagging, and customer access.
Integrate data from deployable assets and stationary sites into one normalized qualification layer. The data is stored and presented in a consistent format, regardless of which test or where it was produced. This includes reconciling data source differences, compensating for intermittent or offline connectivity in the field, and preserving information traceability from raw measurement to the qualification statement.

Core

Senior/lead experience establishing functional foundational and operational data intensive architecture for backend operational systems.
Strong command of data modeling, pipeline design, and storage/archival strategy including data model evolution and reprocessing of historical data.
Comfortable owning infrastructure, security, and decisions, not just application code.
Track record as the technical decision-maker on an early or first-of-its-kind platform.

Assets

Test, measurement, instrumentation, or industrial/lab data acquisition background.
Aerospace, defense, or other regulated environments where traceability and audit trails are requirements, not features.
Experience with systems that must operate across connected and disconnected/field environments.
Familiarity with spacecraft environmental testing or qualification standards.

Comfortable with ambiguity and an evolving requirements and service portfolio.
Able to translate between test engineers, operations, and customers.
Pragmatic about scope: push the version that will be acceptable for the given timeline and defer ideas that are not part of the critical path.

Some travel to fixed facilities and, occasionally, to mobile deployments.
U.S. citizen status may be required depending on customer and program constraints.
Compensation, level, and equity to be defined; this description is provisional and open to shaping by a strong candidate.
